Thank You For All The Love

Beezer's mombean here,

I know that I haven’t been keeping up with Beezer’s blog as much as I should for the past few months. It’s just that I started a new job with a start up company in April, and while it’s a great company with a great future and opportunity for me, it’s been a lot of work. After staring at computer screen for 8-9-10 hours I’m a little pooped when I get home. So, I’m sorry that we haven’t been as active as posters as we heave been in the past.

I’d like to close out Beezer’s blog with this post. Oh, we’ll still be around and visit as much as we can, but I want to spend as much time with my special guy as I can. His illness came on a lot faster that I ever would have imagined. It was just a couple of weeks ago that I noticed he was sleeping more than usual, and he started eating less than usual and was losing a little weight. I thought mostly it was just the change of seasons, but worth a trip to the vet, just a little bug that maybe some antibiotics would clear up. He was still coming to me for hugs and lap sits, not to mention treat time! So, I didn’t think anything was really wrong.

I can’t tell you how hard this has hit me. His 10 year gottcha day is just a few weeks from now, and he’s never been sick a day. I thought we had years to come. His vet at the great Pets Unlimited in San Francisco said that cats often hide that they are sick.

Beez is just a magician. His diagnosis, isn’t good at all, Dr. James said he has severe high blood proteins and other abnormalities in his blood work up so that even with chemo he gain just a few weeks maybe a few months if we were especially lucky. I have decided that the quality of his life is much more important than a little extra time, so we won’t do anything that drastic, but give as much support as he needs to be happy. Currently, he’s in no pain, enjoying hugs and kisses with his strong purr in my ear and a good lap-sit in the evening. That is what matters most to us, so as long as he’s happy I’ll be happy and enjoy our time together –however long that may be. He can eat what ever he wants and have all the treats and tuna-tinis he wants. He has an appetite stimulant which I hope will encourage him a little more, and some antibiotics to help support his immune system. He really digs the greenies pill pockets, so that makes it a treat to take his medicine. He had sub-Q fluids at the vet, and that seemed to perk him up, Dr. James said that they can teach me how to give them to him if we decide that that would be good for him.

He has always been a very loving and trusting fellow, and that hasn’t changed at all!

We have truly enjoyed our time with all of you in the cat blog-o-sphere. From the miracle kitties, KC and Dinna-mites, to the purr-rageous pirate Fagin, to Darling Millie with her bionic leg who brought us to Gizzy and Jasmine. --- I will always treasure Beezie's Gizzy quilt knowing how much he enjoyed his naps on it. And Kimo & Sabi with their own special miracle, the blurpie girl. To the Gorgeous Gingers and the Man Cat’s Club to the Secret Paws and I’ll never forget the True Love Bus Tour! Or Skeezex and Mao, Rocky & (life’s a) Trip, to Jeter Harris, Chai Latte, Daisy and Harley, Fat Eric, Eric and Flynn, Miss Peach, Hot(M)BC and Milo & Alfie …. Oh, there are just so many to name, I better stop now or I’ll forget someone – I can’t do that! You have all meant so much to us. There must be many more smiles than tears we’ve shared together over the years. Beezer and I talk about all of you often, and we will as long as we can. My special pal from across town (waves) Halloween brought us some Lourdes water because you never know; and he is a San Francisco kitty after all.

Good friends will always see each other again, so I know that Beezer will wait with the others that have gone on to the bridge before us until we can all be together again.

We wish all of you purrs, headbutts, happy naps in the sun and oodles of treats!

Tattle - Tail Tuesday

Kitties you just wouldn't believe the night I had!

I know that lots of you are hot - hot - Hot! But, here in the City By The Bay, when the fog rolls in at night it can get chilly. So, the other night it was a little cooler than I really like, so I thought that I'd snuggle under the covers. I wiggled and squiggled and wiggled some more until I was all comfie snuggled up right behind the mombean's knees, where it was warm. I was all purry and sleepy, just about to nod off when It happened.

It was a very loud sound that went ---
PPoooooooooottttttt!
It came for the big butt right next to mine head.

And then, well, bless mine paws and whiskers, there came the smell!
I think she was trying to poison me with toxic gas.
Like any normal kitty I did what came naturally I sneezed. A big wet sneeze! And I gots the H-E-double hockey sticks outta there.

She just giggled and said "Sorry Beezie. It musta been the bean burrito I had for lunch."

I spent the rest of the night on top of the covers. If you ever hear the words bean and burrito I suggest you run for your life.

"Hey! Your tuna poots ain't potpourri, ya know."

Hummpff. I just hope mine smeller isn't broke.

Ya Just Can't Get Good Help

Wow! Its been a whole month since I've added a post to mine blog!!
Ya know its not my fault. Its all the mombean's fault. She's been gone a lot lately. She goes out the door early and doesn't get home until late. She says, "I've been at work, I've just been doing a lot of overtime."

Yeah, I know, that really isn't much of an excuse. Lame I'd say.
No visiting mine friends, and leaving messages on their blogs. No surfing the web. GRRRRR!
So, I've been giving her the laser eyes of disapproval.

"Hey, I've been spending 10, or more, hours a day, eyeballs glued to a computer monitor, when I get home I'm tired. I just want a little down time with a sweet kitty in my lap."
Yeah, OK ... I do like a nice lap sit.

Do you remember a long time ago, there was a Benefit Bunny Bash? All the cool buns were there, they had all kinds of fun music & dancing (boy, those bunnies can binky!). They really liked my dancing and I won a really cool prize:
Its a special hand knit bunny to call my very own. It was made specially for me by the wonderful mombean of Miss Eve and Neville, two great Buns from Nottingham England. You can read all about their adventures at their bloggy Bunnies, Needles and Books.
Thank you very much!!
This is a great prize from great buns.

I call him Ginger Snap, because he is the color of ginger kitty like me and the ginger snap cookies mine mombean likes to eat.

He's very soft and snugglie with a fun poofy pom-pom tail, so I've been told. Mombean sez that he is something she called an air-loom. Whatever an air-loom is... It means that I don't get to play with him because ya just can't play with a air-loom. You have to keep it nice so that you can keep it for a long, long time. Mombean sez "Ginger Snap is a treasure. I can feel the bunny love that is in every stitch."
(Do you like the picture of him on mine Gizzy Quilt? There are many talanted and generous people in the blogosphere!)

Here I am working hard, this is what I do for overtime.
I'm gonna work on mombean to post more, so I can keep up with all mine friends.
See ya soon!

Life Is Grand

Hi There!
Just taking a little time outta mine day to pop in and post this fine award that mine pal Halloween gave me:

Thanks H.! You're a very sweet ladycat; and I'm glad that you have your yard back to yourself again.

However ..... it made mine mombean think of a song that she used to love long ago, also called Life Is Grand by the band Camper Van Beethoven.
You can listen to it here:

Yes, long ago, she would drink a lot of beer, hang out in sketchy nightclubs and dance and sing all night long to songs like this. (She was such a wild child in her youth). Worse, she's spent the whole weekend with the stereo cranked up loud dancing and singing in the livingroom to this and other old Camper songs. Frankly, I find it a bit embarrassing. What a sight. She ain't that young anymore!

Ok, go and listen to the song.... I've got stuff to do.

Oh yeah.
I pass this along to:
Daisy and Harley Coz Daisy has the sniffles and I want to help her to feel better.
Roxy and Lucky Coz I know that their mombean would never do anything so embarrassing.
Millie Coz she has a grand life in New Hampster!
And any cat who has ever been embarrassed by their bean.

Heat Wave

We is having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave. Its been like more than 80 degrees - F. It'll cool off tomorrow. I hopes mine fellow NorCal pals have been keepin' it cool.

Here I am hiding from the hot sun by trying to snooze under the futon.

Oh, OK I'll lay here on the floor so you can see mine face.
Yes, I will too blink if you are gonna use that flash!

Helpin' With The Chores

When Mine mombean got her big bum up and outta bed this morning she said:
"Well, Beezer, it's Saturday, we have to do the laundry. And that includes washing the sheets on the bed!"

I was still kinda sleepy, but when she gets in a mood to clean I know that the best thing to do is just get outta her way!
So, I just went to eat mine morning crunchies and find another place to sleep. After she pulled all-a the stuff off the bed and took it where ever it is she goes with the stuff.....

She came back with sheets that smell funny. 'Fresh and Snuggle clean' she calls it. I like it best when it smells like her. Mmmm mombean and sleepy time.......
I always help her put the sheets on the bed chase all the wrinkles away.

You won't get way from me you nasty wrinkle!

Sometimes it helps to stalk the hard to get ones!

With the comforter back on the bed its all done!
Phewww! That is hard work, but the really hard work is getting mine smell back on my spot of the bed.
*Yawn*
Yeah, I'll just be nappin' here for a while until it smells like me again.

Gentle-Man Cat Monday

A Gentleman cat says:
"Yes, you go and get yourself a nice cup of coffee. I'll keep your seat warm until you get back."

Handsome and suave, its how I roll.
