I Gets Presents!!

I was a very good boy this year!!!
Look at all the loot I got.

Yeah, that's right a new bed!!
I really needed one. Above you can see me checkin' it out by making biscuits on it. I've been way too excited to actually nap on it yet. Plus, I'm a little confused coz my old bed is in the study next to the trash. What can that mean??
And look at all these fine vittles & treats. I really liked the Cat Dancer that my Secret Paws Pals Daisy And Pixie sent me so mombean got me another in case it gets lost or somethin'. She says she hasn't seen me move so fast after a toy in years. I guess that's true. I also have started to go up to her and ask her to play with me.

My dinner tonight will be:Yup, Bora Bora Luau. That's Sardine cutlets in Lobster Consommé! I can hardly wait.
And lookee what I gots the mombean! The new Blogosphere Calendar. I think she might have been tipped off coz she had to go to the post office to pick up the package, but she acted all surprised and really happy!

Well, I gotta go .... somthin' about its time for a egg-nog latte.

I hope Sandy-paws was as got to all of you as he was to me!!

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Its been a bit cold in San Francisco the past few days, so I'm especially enjoying the sun this morning.

The mombean has some laundry to do and then she's gonna do a little cooking so the kitchen should start to have great smells.

Rest up all my Kitty pals, ya don't want to fall asleep and miss Santy Paws.

Secret Paws

It was just a regular, quiet day. I was munching on some fresh kitty grass, fiber is important you know. When the door buzzer went "Bzzzzzzz!" well, I wasn't expecting anything, at least nothing that I had ordered.

What could this be? Oh, wait it says "Secret Paws" on it !!
Now I really *was* excited. Who was it from? What are the goodies inside?

Hey look!! Its from Daisy and Pixie! Two of the blog-o-spheres sweetest sisters. Daisy is especially known for her daring circus feats, and Pixie for her love of bananers. I think I can smell them both! Yes, they would work together to create a perfect Secret Paws package.

What could be in here???

Look at all these wonderful goodies! There are toys that roll, toys that are spring-boingy, toys with feathers -- even marabou, Oooo how I love marabou, attached to a bouncy ball. Not to mention yummy treats.

And .... a new Cat Dancer. I have been meaning to get more exercise, this will make it fun.

This is a especially cute yellow mouse. Its soft and sparkled. I'm such a sucker for soft and sparkled.

Mmmmmm did I mention treats???
My first taste of 'Kitty Kissers' sardine yummers....... It won't be my last!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

Daisy and Pixie you are such generous and fun Secret Paws pals. I am so happy that you are my friends.

I hope that you have the best of Holidays and a happy, health New Year.

Purrs & Purrs & Purrs.

Toastie Tuesday

This picture was supposed to be for Mancat Monday, but mine mombean was busy doing work for a meeting for a new jobbie but it got postponed to Wednesday (I's keepin' my paws crossed for her!) so I couldn't post it on time.

So I decided to make a new day for all the kitties who live in snowy regions.
Like my sweet girl Precious Flower, the sweet Miss Peach and the snow bound Millie. Oh, and my dawg pals Roxy & Lucky. I'm calling it "Toasty Tuesday" its to show how we kitties are heat seeking snugglers.

If you check my Gottcha day post below you will see that my perch on the back of the futon has been a favorite of mine since I was a little kitten.

I hope every kitty and their beans are keeping warm!

Dear Santy Paws

Dear Santy Paws,

I have been a very good boy all year. I mean I hardly did anything that got the mombean upset. I snuggle with her every evening for lap time, I give her losts of purrs and love eyes (which she really likes).

This year I'd really like to have a new bed that is big enough for a king-sized mancat like me. As you can see my bed is too small for me when I want to stretch out for a nap.
Oh, and some treats would be nice. I love temptations of all flavors, and seafood bestest of all. The soft chewy kind like Pounce are good too!
And some stinky goodness would be nice.
Maybe a few rolly balls, and soft pouncey toys, and some jumpy toys if you have a little extra room.

And for the mombean ... she has a list I'm sure she'll be sending along but a zip up sweater that doesn't show my ginger furs would be a good start!

Your Pal,
Beezer

Now This is Funny!

You Are Blitzen

Always in good spirits, you're the reindeer who loves to party down with Santa.

Why You're Naughty: You're always blitzed on Christmas Eve, while flying!

Why You're Nice: You mix up a mean eggnog martini.

Yeah, that's me a par-tay kinda guy!

Cookies

My mombean has been so inspired by Millie's mombean and the great cooking stuff that she does that she decided that she wanted to make something too. So, when she saw the cookies that she made she wanted to copy her. On Millie's mombean's blog Cooks With Love She posted a recipe for White Chocolate Chip Cookies with Cranberries and Peanuts.

Of course mine had to do her own thing so she made Oatmeal, Dark Chocolate Chip with Cranberries. (no nuts coz she sez nuts upset her tummy) I'll turn over the blog to mombean.

Oatmeal is good for you, dark chocolate is good for you, and cranberries are good for you.
So this is like a health food right?

I like chewie bar style cookies so I put the whole batch in to a square Brownie pan and will cut up after baking. Its easier to bake too.

Here they are all mixed up and ready to go into the oven. (the white stuff around the edge is just the bakers style pam I sprayed into the pan. Its got oil and flour mix together for point and shoot ease.)
Just out of the oven .... Mmmmm Smells so good!
After cooling, I cut into serving size chunks. See all the good Cranberries and dark chocolate chips?
All but 3 of the cookie bars are packaged up and ready for the freezer. Once a week or so I'll put a treat into the lunch I pack to take with me to work. Also, if they are frozen I won't scarf them all down when I'm plopped in front of the TV. I had to eat one right away -- for quality control (that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!) and The other 2... well one will be for my lunch and 1 for TV time tonight.

Psssssttt! Psssst!! Wanna know a seceret? She used a package mix!! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Yeah, she's great baker alright.

Hey, Beezer!! That's not nice. I was gonna tell. Besides we have such a small kitchen that if I were to buy and store all the things to make cookies from scratch and have all the gear like a big stand mixer there wouldn't be any room for Temptations or cans of stinky goodness.

HUH? WHAT??? *MY* TEMPTATIONS!?!?!
Well, you did steal the idea about adding the cranberries. I - I mean thought up, yeah, that's it, thought up the idea about adding the cranberries. Now, that, my loving mombean, was genius!

Gottcha Day!!

(I'm chillin' on the Futon watchin' the sunbeam move away this morning.)

It the best day of the year!!
Its my 8th Gottcha Day!

Eight years ago I came to my forever home on the day before Thanksgiving. We always celebrate the day rather than the actual date (November 25) because I'm really thankful for another year together.

You can see what I wrote last year for my Gottcha Story.
This year she spruced up the bloggie a bit, do you like it? She needs to do a bit more, but sez she doesn't have a lot of time. Besides we rather be visiting our friends.

Below are a few pics from when I was little.
(We didn't have a digital camera way back then so these are snaps from the cranky old film camera. Sorry they are a little blurry, its kinda hard takin' a picture of a photo)Awwww.... I was a sleepy little shaver. At just 2 pounds and 9 weeks old here.

Peek-a-boo!! I discovered I could climb up the back of the Futon.

And then I discovered the bathroom sink!
I was a very active little guy, huh?

This time of year we always send a contribution to the San Francisco SPCA (where I came from) to help all the kittens, cats, puppies and dawgs find their forever home just like I did. The SF-SPCA will do a Holiday Windows adoption this year. I'll have the mombean take some picture and post them in the comming weeks.

Mancat Monday - Happy Guy

I should be thinking of what I should do for my gotcha day post coming up on Wednesday. But, it is so warm here on top of the computer and my most favorite person is here, so I think I'll just rest my eyes and purr and purr for all the kitties that need a little extra love today.

Where did that come from?

I'm a spoiled guy.

I've got lots and lots and lots of toys. Way too many to have out at any one time, so mine mombean puts a few out for me and the rest are put away so I forget about them and get surprised when I see them again. Here are the ones I currently have available.

I like to keep them all over the place, but she picks them up and puts them around my scratchy post. She says its so no one will trip over them and get hurt. Instead she arranges them so I can see what I'd like.

Eh. I wasn't really in the mood for any of them.

So I went to my secret place, (no one knows where it is, and I ain't tellin') and I brought out this ball that is really like a bunch of rubber bands all wrapped around a jingle bell. It was sent to me by my pals Eric and Flynn a long time ago.
Here's a close up ------>

Boy, was the mombean surprised!
"Wha'!!" She said.
"Where has that been? I forgot all about that toy."

So, I've been batting it around and putting the bitey on it and carrying it around. Every time I do I hear, "I have no idea where you hid that, but you really are giving it a work out now."

He-he-he! I gots ta keep her guessing.

Now if I could just get her out of the desk chair when I want to nap there...
*Sigh* a mancat's work is never done, but keepin' her guessin' is a start.

Road Trip Tour Of San Francisco

Oh, there is so much to see and do in San Francisco. I hardly know where to start.
Well, the big red double decker bus rolled up to my place early this morning and out tumbled the nicest two pugs, Lucky and Roxy, that you could ever want to meet, and the finest kitties. There were so many I could hardly keep up with all the names! Poor Dragonheart looked a bit confused, this is his first trip to the states and it really has been a busy one. "Howdy!" I said to all, "its nice to meet you in person. My apartment is really too small for all of us to fit so we can go around the corner for some breakfast." We met up with the rest of The California kitties (and buns) I've invited, Kimo and Sabi, Skittles, Sophia & Fiona & Orlando, Grr,Midnight & Cocoa, the whole gang had some breakfast at the coffee shop around the corner from my house.

After Breakfast I asked Skittles to lead us all in some Yoga to stretch out all those muscles that may have gotten a little cramped from the travels. We went to a beautiful lawn area in Golden Gate Park:We should have plenty of room to stretch and roll around here. I think Skittles called this a reverse MontyQ. It was a lot of fun. She has a whole special routine for us. You can see it at her bloggie.

Then we were off to sight-see....

First stop, the Golden Gate Bridge!
"Hey Millie! Move outta the way, you're blocking the view"!!

On the other side of the bridge is the Pacific Ocean. and since that is what everyone really wanted to see we went to Ocean Beach.Everyone seemed to really like the beach.
"No, Daisy, we don't have any lizards or 'gators either!"
Dragonheart liked the warm sand and sun. That was good 'coz the breeze can get a little cold here.
Lucky was the silliest, she would run up to meet a incoming wave and then run back when her paws started to get wet from the cold ocean water. She must have run back and forth a dozen times. Barking all the while.
Roxy and I were Laughin' and laughin'!
Then we all sat and watched the kites flying high and then dipping down almost to the sand, just to fly up again. We wanted to try to catch the fun streamers from hanging from the bottom of the kite but it was way to fast for us.

The cold breeze was starting to make Dragonheart chilly, so we left the beach to head to Fisherman's Wharf.
We paused high atop Telegraph hill to take in this spectacular view.
That's Alcatraz Island on the left and Coit Tower on the right.

Then we hopped on a Cable Car to finish our trip to Fisherman's Wharf.

Hey, is that me? Or my pal Ping?

Yup that's Ping! Everyone was gettin' us mixed up all day. We both ended up just answering to 'Ping-zer'. LOL!!!

Finally we were there. There are so many things to do and see here its easy to get lost.

Fishing boats in the harbor ....

Lots of tourists ......

But to me it means.....

Crab!
Lip smackin,
Whisker lickin'
CRAB!!

Fresh from the cooker, all hot and juicy, full of great seafood flavor!!

Here's MonteQ and Mickey waitin' for seconds!

"Hey, Don't eat too much. I have a special dinner planned for us."

Millie, Lucky and Roxy perked up their ears. They had a taste of crab, but I know its not really their thing.

We all hopped back on the Cable Car for a trip up the hill to the only resturant that I knew would make Millie the happiest kitty in all the world... Yep, The House of Prime Rib. They serve only Roast BEEF!!
Big juicy slabs of the stuff like this:

They rolled in this big cart and we each got to choose just exactly how we like it done rare, medium or well done.

We all chose the biggest cut the King Henry VIII Cut. Its like way over a whole pound and a half of BEEF!

Millie, Lucky and Roxy and Luxor just chowed down! I don't even think Roxy noticed that they don't have broccoli.
I tell ya those gals from New Hampshire can really pack it away. And skinny Lux, who knew?

But best of all, after the plates were licked clean, and all the good bones were wrapped to save for the bus, the waiters came around again and asked if any one would like seconds, on the house!!
Dragonheart chirped up first and said "Ja, Bitte, Danke" in loud voice that made everyone laugh. I was impressed, seconds on roast beef after all the crab he had eaten .... Well, I hoped he wouldn't get a tummy ache.

After all the plates were finally cleared, and we all were fuller than we had ever been in our lives, I suggested that we all go to a karaoke bar near by so that MonteQ could sing some of his favorite songs for us all. He was all excited and started to warm up but everybody just groaned and I guess they were too full coz they said they needed a nap. Poor guy looked a little dejected so I told him we could do it next time.

We went outside and the big red bus was waiting for us. Tomorrow I think we are going north to Petaluma where Kimo and Sabi live and to Napa to see where Sophia lives.

But right now I just want a soft pillow and a warm blankie so I can curl up and have a looong nap.

Respectfully submitted,
Beezer
