Farmer Beezer's Spring Report

***!!Update!!***

KC gave me the 'E' for Excellent award for this post!
I am honored, KC. Thank you so much; it is always great to know that your work is appreciated.
=================
Hi there fellow Farmers!
Beezer here with the Spring Has Sprung report.
Whether you are a big time farmer with a whole garden or just have a windowsill in an apartment, like me, its time to start thinkin' about the cat grass plantin' season.

This season I tried somthin' new. I had mine mombean go to the health food store to get my seeds. Here is what she got:
Its called 'Organic Sprouting, Hard Red Wheat Berries'.
What that means is its all natural, nothing added, and ready to grow.
Now there are 2 kinds of Red Wheat, hard and soft; tell ya the truth I don't know what the difference is, but the hard kind is workin' great for me. Oh, and 'Berries' is just fancy way to say 'seed'. Just have your bean go in to the health food store and ask for 'wheat grass seeds', tell 'em its fur growin' yer own, and I'm sure they can help you out.
Best of all it only costs 59 cents a pound! Heck, a little envelope package at the garden store, only enough for 1 plantin' was over 2 bucks! This is a real bargain. We got enough for 4 or 5 or even 6 plantin's for less than 25 cents. I'm sure that you can find that in the sofa cushions.

Here is what it looked like a week after plantin':
Startin' to come up nice huh?

A few days later it looks like this:
Ready for a test nibble I'd say.
Mmmmm, Mmm, Mmmm! Nothin' beats the taste of home grown green goodness.

So, give it a try you'll be glad ya did!

Farmer Beezer, this is a wonderful farm report. You have saved us a lot of money buying kitty grass seed.
KC and I will check out the health food stores near us (Houston-Fort Bend) area and report back.
Where I currently order kitty grass, the price is $12.00 per pound with $8 shipping. Walmart offers a small one-time use container for $3.60 plus tax. Compare this to your organic at $.59 per pound. What a savings!

Oh Farmer Beezer, this is wonderful information. Thank you so much. I will have Mom get some of those seeds for me. That way I can get some grass sooner. I don't think our snow is gonna melt until summertime.

That is such a great tip!
I was just wondering what I was going to do when my cat grass seed supply ran out! (I bought all that a local pet store going out of business had on-hand...).
I will have to try to find these sprouting seeds in my local health food store!
cheers,

Mmm! You did a good job growing that yummy grass!

Just be careful that it does not grow too high; vishus deer might try to hide in it!

My Mom tried planting some catgrass seeds for me. They sprouted OK, but when I tried to chew the tops of them, I pulled them right out of the dirt.

Farmer Beezer, you are certainly an agricatural expert! This is a great idea, especially these days when everyone is short on green papers!

Hey, don't let Buddy or Samaritan near your garden. They like to eat green things, roots, dirt and all. Dogs have no manners sometimes.

We's gived you an award, Beezer, come check ours bloggie.

The kittens will pull the growing shoots of kitty grass out, seed, dirt and all, unless you wait till they get a bit bigger.

Again, this is a great tip, Kitty Grass (seeds or plants) is very expensive and so easy to grow.

Mom planted some for us once, but it didn't turn out as good as she'd hoped.

Hi Beezer! The grass looks good. Maybe I can get the Food Lady/Tech Dunce to get some of those seeds for me. Did they come from Rainbow, or somewhere else? Weather's great right now, isnt it?
