Happy New Year

As you can see my new bed is big enough to accommodate the big mancat I am!

The only problem is I don't seem to like it. This is only the second time mine mombean has seen me laying on it.. Oh, I go up to it and make biscuits on it but I won't curl up, or stretch out and have a real nap on it.

Maybe I'm more of a cuddle cup kinda guy. I'm not sayin' and mombean is bummed coz she thought that it would be a great present for me.

Anyone know why I don't seem to like my new bed?
She talkin' about taking up my old bed and hiding it in the closet so the only bed I have is my new one. (But save the old in case I really don't take to the new bed)

It's too fluffy to lay on. It needs to be flatter for that. Fluffy is good for biscuit but for resting sometimes a bit flatter is better.
We'll take it. We don't mind fluffiness. We lay on anything that has a pattern like your bed!
Happy New Year!

I think Karl is right. It needs to get smooshed down a bit. Sprinkle some catnip on it too!

Well I don't sleep in the heated cat cup Mom got for me, so I completely understand.

However Monty sent me a lovely bed for the Summer Secret Paw, and I didn't get into that for six months. Finally I did, and now I love it, so maybe it's just that it needs a bit of time.

Maybe your Mom could put your Gizzy quilt on it.

It's new and your mum wants you to sleep in it, so you don't. Us kitties only do fings when we want to, not the Beans. So when she gives up and finks you're never going to sleep in it, you'll look at it and say, Wow that's a great bed, I fink I'm going to sleep here furrom now on.

Maybe you just gotta get used to it. We kitties do not like change so it may take you a while, but we think you will like it once it smells right!

It does look like a nice bed. Maybe it needs a blankie on top. Blankies are always nice.

our mommy agrees wif your mommy - hide your old bed. we agree that maybe your gizzy quilt on top would be nice. or a fleece blankie that you can wad up or make a tent out of too

I got a heated cat cup and I avoid it at all costs. If my Mommie tries to put me in it, I spring right out immediately. I think Karl might be right, your bed might be a little too puffy right now. Smash it up a little bit!

We're kind of change-resistant, so sometimes it takes us awhile to warm up to something new, that doesn't have our smells on it yet. Maybe you could try smashing the new bed down a little bit and put Beezer's old bed on top of it for awhile?

Duh, it's new, it doesn't smell like home and it will take awhile to get it just right. Some catnip would be good. We each have two different beds and it took a long time afore we would sleep in dem. Now we all just trade off and mom never knows where she'll find us napping.

Ignore it for a while then suddenly sleep on it! Drives the beans nuts, hahaha!!

I think you just need to get used to it and flatten it down a bit, get it more to your liking. Then it will be okay. Mind you, I sleep on anything. Lucky too. So what advice can we give, ha ha.

It takes time to adjust to a new bed. So maybe give it some time. I have several beds and which one I pick depends on my mood.

We don't like poofy pillow beds either. Once you get it all smooshed to your liking we bet you'll lay on it every day!
Maybe your mom could put it someplace that gets the sun everyday, that usually lures us over to lay on things.

Cats don't need a reason to not like something. But they especially don't like anything the humans want them to.

I dunno why you don't seem to like your new bed. Maybe it doesn't have enough of your smell on it?

I think your Mom could try putting some nip on it, or a blankie that you've used so the new bed will have your good smell on it. It is a beautiful bed, I can see why your Mom is a little bummed that you're not using it.

Happy New Year to you, and everyone in your family :-D

Like a few smart kitties have said, maybe the problem is just that it's new and doesn't smell like you or your home. I was like that with a new blankie until Mum used my toys and other blankies to make sure it smelt like home. She even wrapped herself in it to help it along!

Thanks for visiting us - Mum loves all orange kitties so we'll definitely be back,

That's a great new bed, Beez. I don't know why any guy wouldn't like it.

PS Mom says yes, put the old bed away and put the new one where the old one used to be. Continue to encourage him to use it and when he does, give him what he enjoys (tummy scritches, paw massages, or whatever) Cats don't like change, but will eventually accept the new thing.
