Oh, there is so much to see and do in San Francisco. I hardly know where to start.
Well, the
big red double decker bus rolled up to my place early this morning and out tumbled the nicest two
pugs, Lucky and Roxy, that you could ever want to meet, and the finest kitties. There were so many I could hardly keep up with all the names! Poor
Dragonheart looked a bit confused, this is his first trip to the states and it really has been a busy one. "Howdy!" I said to all, "its nice to meet you in person. My apartment is really too small for all of us to fit so we can go around the corner for some breakfast." We met up with the rest of The California kitties (and buns) I've invited,
Kimo and Sabi,
Skittles,
Sophia & Fiona & Orlando, Grr,Midnight & Cocoa, the whole gang had some breakfast at the coffee shop around the corner from my house.
After Breakfast I asked
Skittles to lead us all in some Yoga to stretch out all those muscles that may have gotten a little cramped from the travels. We went to a beautiful lawn area in Golden Gate Park:
We should have plenty of room to stretch and roll around here. I think Skittles called this a reverse
MontyQ. It was a lot of fun. She has a whole special routine for us. You can see it at her
bloggie.
Then we were off to sight-see....
First stop, the Golden Gate Bridge!
"Hey
Millie! Move outta the way, you're blocking the view"!!
On the other side of the bridge is the Pacific Ocean. and since that is what everyone really wanted to see we went to Ocean Beach.
Everyone seemed to really like the beach.
"No,
Daisy, we don't have any lizards or 'gators either!"
Dragonheart liked the warm sand and sun. That was good 'coz the breeze can get a little cold here.
Lucky was the silliest, she would run up to meet a incoming wave and then run back when her paws started to get wet from the cold ocean water. She must have run back and forth a dozen times. Barking all the while.
Roxy and I were Laughin' and laughin'!
Then we all sat and watched the kites flying high and then dipping down almost to the sand, just to fly up again. We wanted to try to catch the fun streamers from hanging from the bottom of the kite but it was way to fast for us.
The cold breeze was starting to make Dragonheart chilly, so we left the beach to head to
Fisherman's Wharf.
We paused high atop
Telegraph hill to take in this spectacular view.
That's
Alcatraz Island on the left and
Coit Tower on the right.
Then we hopped on a
Cable Car to finish our trip to Fisherman's Wharf.
Hey, is that me? Or my pal
Ping?
Yup that's Ping! Everyone was gettin' us mixed up all day. We both ended up just answering to 'Ping-zer'. LOL!!!
Finally we were there. There are so many things to do and see here its easy to get lost.
Fishing boats in the harbor ....
Lots of tourists ......
But to me it means.....
Crab!
Lip smackin,
Whisker lickin'
CRAB!!
Fresh from the cooker, all hot and juicy, full of great seafood flavor!!
Here's
MonteQ and
Mickey waitin' for seconds!
"Hey, Don't eat too much. I have a special dinner planned for us."
Millie, Lucky and Roxy perked up their ears. They had a taste of crab, but I know its not really their thing.
We all hopped back on the Cable Car for a trip up the hill to the only resturant that I knew would make Millie the happiest kitty in all the world...
Yep, The
House of Prime Rib. They serve only Roast BEEF!!
Big juicy slabs of the stuff like this:
They rolled in this big cart and we each got to choose just exactly how we like it done rare, medium or well done.
We all chose the biggest cut the
King Henry VIII Cut. Its like way over a whole pound and a half of BEEF!
Millie, Lucky and Roxy and
Luxor just chowed down! I don't even think Roxy noticed that they don't have broccoli.
I tell ya those gals from New Hampshire can really pack it away. And skinny Lux, who knew?
But best of all, after the plates were licked clean, and all the good bones were wrapped to save for the bus, the waiters came around again and asked if any one would like seconds, on the house!!
Dragonheart chirped up first and said "Ja, Bitte, Danke" in loud voice that made everyone laugh. I was impressed, seconds on roast beef after all the crab he had eaten .... Well, I hoped he wouldn't get a tummy ache.
After all the plates were finally cleared, and we all were fuller than we had ever been in our lives, I suggested that we all go to a karaoke bar near by so that MonteQ could sing some of his favorite songs for us all. He was all excited and started to warm up but everybody just groaned and I guess they were too full coz they said they needed a nap. Poor guy looked a little dejected so I told him we could do it next time.
We went outside and the big red bus was waiting for us. Tomorrow I think we are going north to
Petaluma where Kimo and Sabi live and to Napa to see where Sophia lives.
But right now I just want a soft pillow and a warm blankie so I can curl up and have a looong nap.
Respectfully submitted,
Beezer
