A Warning & New Treat Jar

We was getting ready for lights out on Saturday and mine mombean lit this candle on the table in front of the window. She thought it would make a nice picture to have me on the table too. So, being a nice guy, I jumped up and went to let her take mine picture. I'd never seen a candle before so I went over to have a closer look. I stuck my nose up to the bright part. It was hot, Hot, HOT!! I quickly ran away, and sneezed like a bazillion times!

Mombean got all upset and thought that I might have burned my nose.
She put out the candle and turned on all the lights, and picked me up and said:
"Oh, Beezer! Are you OK?? Sweetie, are you hurt?"

I'm fine! I didn't burn my nose or singe my whiskers or anything.
But candles are B-A-D! Like stoves and hot-as-hell box bad. Every kitty should stay away.

The really good news is that the new treat jar I won arrived.
Kintaro (and their mombean) at Kazoku Neko had an auction to raise funds for our kitty furr-ends in need and I was the highest bidder on a great new treat Jar.

Mombean thinks that is would be a good place to keep her chocolate kisses and the last chocolate Easter Bunny. I think it would be a purr-fect place for temptations.

Am I right or am I right? I mean it has cute kitty faces on it, why she thinks it would be for her treats I just don't know.

There were lots of great things in the auction and I think Kintaro did a really great job. ::Clap, clap, clap::
They helped some great kitties and we all had a
really great time.
Thank You!

Report From E. Bunny

Shhhhhhhh......
*Whispers*
I gotta be quiet here, Beezer is sound asleep.

But I thought I post a sneak peek at his basket:There's Temptations, of course, and a new Laser toy. He's never had one of these before, so I hope he likes it.
Plus two different kinds of seeds for his farm. On the right there are some of the wheat grass seed I know he likes so much; and on the left there are some clover seeds. He's never grown clover before, but as a Bun I can tell ya, clover is great!

Oh, you may have noticed, there is no basket grass in his basket. That's coz his mombean said "Absolutely no more basket grass for you!", after the incident Easter Day in aught 2. Now, that was a first class mess, I tell ya!

I hope he likes his basket.

To all good Kitties, Woffies, Bunnies, Furries and Beans,
Have a Hoppy, Hoppy day!!

Respectfully Submitted,
E. Bunny

P.S. Don't tell ..... I've hidden some chocolate for the mombean!

Farmer Beezer's Spring Report

***!!Update!!***

KC gave me the 'E' for Excellent award for this post!
I am honored, KC. Thank you so much; it is always great to know that your work is appreciated.
=================
Hi there fellow Farmers!
Beezer here with the Spring Has Sprung report.
Whether you are a big time farmer with a whole garden or just have a windowsill in an apartment, like me, its time to start thinkin' about the cat grass plantin' season.

This season I tried somthin' new. I had mine mombean go to the health food store to get my seeds. Here is what she got:
Its called 'Organic Sprouting, Hard Red Wheat Berries'.
What that means is its all natural, nothing added, and ready to grow.
Now there are 2 kinds of Red Wheat, hard and soft; tell ya the truth I don't know what the difference is, but the hard kind is workin' great for me. Oh, and 'Berries' is just fancy way to say 'seed'. Just have your bean go in to the health food store and ask for 'wheat grass seeds', tell 'em its fur growin' yer own, and I'm sure they can help you out.
Best of all it only costs 59 cents a pound! Heck, a little envelope package at the garden store, only enough for 1 plantin' was over 2 bucks! This is a real bargain. We got enough for 4 or 5 or even 6 plantin's for less than 25 cents. I'm sure that you can find that in the sofa cushions.

Here is what it looked like a week after plantin':
Startin' to come up nice huh?

A few days later it looks like this:
Ready for a test nibble I'd say.
Mmmmm, Mmm, Mmmm! Nothin' beats the taste of home grown green goodness.

So, give it a try you'll be glad ya did!

Ugg - Rain again

I am soooo ready for spring!
Its cold and rainy here in San Francisco, again. I saw that my pal Sophia a.k.a. Stealth Kitty! feels the same. Nothing to do but pull the blanket over your head and go back to sleep.

Here is what mine mombean saw when she came home today:
Yeah, yeah, I'm in here!

Oh, is it time for dinner?
Be right there!

ManCat Monday

Mine mombean went shopping yesterday for some foods stuff, and when she came home she said:
"Mmmm Broccoli, Onions, Carrots, Green Beans, Eggplant, Celery, Oranges, Bananas! Boy, are we gonna be eatin' good this week."

Eating? She calls that junk food? Hummpfffff. I was really up set. No stinky goodness, no chunchie goodness, no Temptations, no Pounce, no Greenies. In short nothin' fur ME!

Then one of the shopping bags flew off the counter and drifted to the floor. Well, I am the mancat of the house, so I pounced into action to make sure that it didn't hurt any childrens coz it says on it to "Not A Toy. Keep away from Children."

Take that you bad plastic bag! Grrrr!
Hear me roar you carrier of icky things!

I'll teach you fear with my mighty ManCat Laser eyes!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

"Beezer! What are you doing?"

Nothin's, mombean.

"I was going to use that for the garbage. And now you have made it full of holes, it won't hold a thing."

Double Hummpppffffff.

Valentine's Day

I've been thinkin' about Valentines day.
Of course I have my special Valentine, Precious Flower, she is just the sweetest girl kitty any guy could ask for. Last year I wrote her a poem and asked her to be mine, and she said yes! Oh, I've been on cloud 9 ever since.
I'm sure that she'll be mine again this year.
::Smiles Sweetly::

There are also lots of girl kitties (and a woofie or 2) who are friends and who make me smile and feel happy, not like a romance, just like a good friend. So, I thought that this year I'd get bunches and bunches of flowers to give to them to let them know that I'm so glad that they are my friend.

Sweet darling Millie works very hard with her Mom to help make the wonderful Gizzy Quilts that many of us lucky kitty have to nap on. When I curl up on mine to take a nap I like to think of her sweet face and know that she helped to make my quilt purr-fection.

The lady kitties over at The House of the (Mostly) Black Cats, Sanjee, Boni, Mini & Gree are 4 of the finest Tuxie sweethearts. Any guy is lucky to call them friend. And what can I say about the Nip Raviolis? Sublime!

I can't forget
Missy, KC and Momma Dinah! They have spent the past year raising the cutest bunch of Mites. Six kittens all at once is a lot but they made it look easy. The lil' darlin's adventures growing up has been so much fun to watch. Then along came Momma Tortie and her three...
You ladies deserve flowers every day!

Sweet Miss Peach has been a wonderful lady to get to know. She is always a gracious hostess, and a cup of tea in her garden or in front of the fire in her cozy Victorian Parlor with a little quiet conversation is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Daisy, is always ready for a fun adventure, and is always learning and teaching me new things. Like all about Lizards, and fashion, plus she's a doctor! Having a doctor on an adventure is great, no one needs to worry about a cut or scrape, she will bandage you right up.
Her sis-furr Pixie, may be a little more subdued, but she is very nice too. Just don't try to take her banan'er!

Sophia and Fiona, the Meezer bun always make me laugh, whether is looking for a perfect sunbeam for a nice nap or the perfect lettuce for a bunny snack they are great gals to know. Oh, and they spend so much time organizing the Secret Paws I just don't know how they get it all done.

Roxy and Lucky, Millie's woofie cousins, have shown me that not all dogs are scary. They are brave pooches who protect the boy when he sleeps and they keep their Mom warm and snugglie when she needs to relax. Roxy can make any day fun with her crazy antics.

Abby, Boo, and Gracie are the sis-furrs of my brother from a different mother, Ping, so I guess that makes them my sis-furrs from a different mother! They may be dainty, but they always know how to get their way.

Sadie, Bianca, Annie and Leah (the woofie)
bring wonderful mosaic arts and good times from way down south in North Carolina. They even kept me up to date on all their doings when they were on vacation! That's blogging dedication.

This is for all the wonderful ladies of the Cat Blogosphere (the shop ran out of flowers before I could name you all) you are each special in your own way, and you make each day new and exciting! I love you all.

I Have A Secret ...

Admirer!

When mine mombean came home tonight she had an envelope that came in the mail addressed to me!

Its a Valentine!! For me!
Who could it be from? I don't know, it says its from "A secret Admirer".
Wow, someone really must think I'm special. Its a really good feeling to know that some one cares.

Thank you Secret Admirer!
I'm going to have to think and think and think to see if I can figure out the mystery of who it might be. A mystery and a special friend, I'm a lucky guy.

Holiday Gizzy Quilt Gift

We sent a Holiday Gizzy Quilt and Nip Ravioli to our country cousins Toast and Ivan. They live in the Hudson Valley NY about a hundred miles north of New York City. It has been a cold and snowy winter for them this year, so they are enjoying quality indoor time.

Here are some pictures that their beans sent to us.

This is Toast. He says he's ready for his close up on his Gizzy. Isn't he a Handsome mancat? Gorgeous Ginger runs in the family.
"Ok, you can go away now, I'm ready for my nap!"

This is Ivan. What a total Nip Head! He has very big paws, all the better to hold his Nip Ravioli.

If you look in the corner over his head is his old, and now unloved, mouse toy.

Oh, yeah! that's the good stuff! Ivan is in total heaven.

Gorgeous Ginger Wednesday

I have decided that I like my new bed. Its near mine mombean's desk so I can be near her, in comfort, while she updates my blog after dinner. I can curl up like the above ......
Or I can stretch out and still be comfortable like this. I think this pose shows what a big and handsome mancat I am. Even if I did squint coz of the flash.

Oh, as you can see on the side bar I have a button for the animal rescue site. just click on the button and you will go to their site where you can give food, at no cost to you, to kitties, woofies, bunnies and others. They are some good people helping animals waiting to go to their forever home.
You can get a button for your site here.

I was at the San Francisco SPCA for a few days before I came home, so I really want to give back for all the kindness they showed to me when I was just a baby kitten. I hope you will click on my button and help.

Saturday Night Dinner

Boy, oh boy, was dinner ever good tonight!!

This is what I had T-U-N-A!!!
There is nothing better than Tuna.
I loves me my Tuna.
Nom-nom-nom-nom! I am the happiest kitty ever.

This is what mine mombean had.
Super yummy Chicken Thighs Braised in White Wine from Millie's Mom's Cooks With Love site. It has her favorite things, Chicken, Wine, Lemon & Garlic.

She was making all these happy sounds while she was eating. The recipe calls for 2 chicken thighs per serving, but that is too much food for mine mombean coz she likes to fill up on veggies. So, on the left is just 1 with a spoonful of the yummy sauce over it. She didn't have any flat leaf parsley, but it was just great. Next time she makes it -- and there will be a next time, and soon -- she'll remember to pick up some parsley.

Oh, the side dishes ... There is brown rice & lentils at the (top of the plate). This a mombean specialty. Its 2 parts brown rice and 1 part lentils. Cook just as you would any rice, that is twice as much water (or stock) as dry. So, 1 cup of rice and lentils cooks with 2 cups liquid. Yummy.
And then there is the steamed broccoli. I know this is the part that will make my good pal Roxy jealous!

So now with full and happy tummies we are gonna go watch a movie.
Thanks you, thank you Millie's Mom for sharing such a great recipe.
